Hi there!! I was wondering if any of you have attempted to make assessments for units? Ones that are based on the Performance Expectations?
ReplyDeleteA few of us have experimented with making assessments that are very 3-dimensional in nature and address a full performance expectation. If you send me an email (finksa@gmail.com) I can find a couple to share with you. I would say that we all try to modify the way in which we are currently testing our students to include phenomena and questions that assess at least 2 out of the 3 dimensions per question. We are getting better at doing that at the lesson level - that summative piece that comes at the end of a lesson cycle. You'll see a lot of those at the end of our student guides and they are in C-E-R format. A few of us use a C-E-R rubric to assess those.
ReplyDeleteAt STANYS i attended a "snack bite" or something to that idea for small lessons. Is there a resource on this site for that?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all you do!
Sure! If you send me an email at sarah.3Dsciencecafe@gmail.com, I will put you in touch with Sarah Silvernail, who developed that workshop and probably has some resources to share. Thanks!
